Arran Arts International

Arran Arts International (AAI) is a Hamburg-based concert promoter dedicated to presenting concerts and musical events of the highest quality that cross borders, whether geographical, cultural or artistic.

Founded by the Scottish baritone Richard Morrison and Hamburg event promoter Kathrin Goda, AAI creates projects where world-class performance meets community spirit: beautiful and inspiring concerts that bring people together, fostering genuine human connection between artists and audiences in Germany and beyond.

The Scots have always been an outward looking, international people and that heritage is at the core of AAI’s identity.  We seek to embrace and celebrate all cultures, support new work and develop opportunities for international collaboration.

Through projects such as the New Scottish Sinfonia, we bring together outstanding musicians from across Europe to present entertaining programmes that blend musical genres and celebrate new work and cultural exchange.

AAI’s aim is straightforward: to promote music that is joyful and inspiring, that connects people, and that celebrates the diversity of artistic expression.

New Scottish Sinfonia

The New Scottish Sinfonia (NeSS) is the flagship orchestra of Arran Arts International, founded in Hamburg by Scottish baritone Richard Morrison. NeSS brings together musicians from Germany, Scotland and across Europe in the spirit of collaboration, creativity, and cultural exchange.

A handpicked ensemble of outstanding players, NeSS combines emerging talent with established artists and embraces diversity across generations, united by a shared commitment to fresh ideas and inclusive music-making.

With a sense of Scotland at its core, the orchestra’s founding ethos is to cross borders in every form — cultural, national, generational, and musical. Its programmes combine tradition with innovation, fusing classical repertoire with other musical forms, and embracing new work to create performances that are joyful, inspirational, and entertaining.
